PRIMEDIC supports clubhouse

07/21/2021

After the DLRG Hessisch-Lichtenau station in Sudentenstraße was terminated, an intensive search for new accommodation was undertaken. Through a tip from Mayor Michael Heußner, the local association learned of the wish of the rabbit breeding club KZV 30 to enter into a cooperation with another club to maintain its own clubhouse. Due to Corona, the work was protracted and it took until March 2021 to complete the renovation work in the building.

A training room of about 84 square metres, a common room (about 50 square metres) with an adjoining kitchen and three storage rooms for material and equipment were created. Two toilets were redesigned to be barrier-free. The old station building has been demolished in the meantime.

The measure could only be carried out thanks to funding from the European LEADER programme, the regional budget of the state of Hesse, the DLRG structural fund, the Sparkasse Foundation, the VR Bank Foundation "A Heart for the Region" and the Matthias Kaufmann Foundation. In the meantime, nearly 80,000 euros have been invested in the project. Currently, a total of 3,400 hours of voluntary work have been put in.

The interior renovation of the building is now largely complete and training operations can begin as soon as the pandemic and the associated protective measures allow attendance events to be held again.

With the new training station and the well-equipped indoor swimming pool, the Hessisch Lichtenau site will in future offer the best conditions for DLRG training and further education in the district and the region.

The medical technology manufacturer Metrax GmbH from Rottweil is sponsoring a new Primedic HeartSave AS defibrillator for the new DLRG training station in Hessisch Lichtenau. The local association has been active in the project "Fighting Sudden Cardiac Death" together with the Matthias Kaufmann Foundation since 2008 and has set up and maintained more than 135 AED sites with Primedic defibrillators in the WerraMeißner district during this period. Gerd Lerbinger from Metrax GmbH handed over the new rescue device to the DLRG local association in April.
