40 practice defibrillators for the Johanniter

Kersten Enke, Divisional Manager for Education at the Johanniter Association of Lower Saxony/Bremen, and Andreas Wendt, Regional Training Manager for Bremen/Verden, were delighted to receive 40 practice PRIMEDIC defibrillators from Metrax GmbH, which were presented by Gerd Lerbinger, Area Sales Manager North. The devices are used in the five regional associations of the Johanniter Association of Lower Saxony/Bremen. At the beginning of the year, the common principles of training aid organisations for first aid, first aid training and basic life support courses were extended to include the learning objectives of "defibrillation by first aiders". With the inclusion of this topic into their catalogue of content and learning objectives, the Johanniter are complying with international emergency medical findings and recommendations in order to further spread knowledge about the incorporation of a (coincidentally) available AED into resuscitation measures. As a result, the principle of defibrillation is now taught in all first aid courses.
