HeartSave AS

The HeartSave AS offers the same features as the HeartSave AED, but is a so-called fully automated external defibrillator. If the HeartSave AS detects a heart rhythm that requires defibrillation, the device delivers the shock independently and fully automatically. Even for unsure users, the automatic shock delivery ensures that the necessary energy is administered quickly and reliably. The HeartSave AS is therefore a device that does not require any further operation on the part of the user after opening the device lid.

FAQs

What is the difference between a semi-automated and a fully automated AED?

AEDs are often colloquially referred to using the terms 'semi-automatic' and 'fully automatic'.
This is unfortunately misleading because most search engines list various kinds of machines for the search term 'fully automatic’, while 'semi-automatic' yields various recommendations for semi-automatic weapons.

The HeartSaveAED and the HeartSavePAD are what is commonly known as semi-automated defibrillators.
As soon as the device detects a heart rhythm in the patient that requires defibrillation, the first aider delivers the shock at the touch of a button.
The HeartSaveAS is a fully automated defibrillator which, in the event that a shock becomes necessary, administers this shock completely independently. This variant is particularly advantageous for insecure or hesitant first aiders, as the shock – if necessary – is also safely delivered to the person affected.

What does the abbreviation AED stand for?

The abbreviation 'AED' stands for Automated External Defibrillator.

How many electrodes are included in one package?

One pair of electrodes is included in each package of SavePads.

Where can I find the SN of my device?

Each AED of the HeartSave series has a type plate on the back of the device, which states the device type, the serial number of the AED as well as the production date.

How long is the warranty period for the AED?

Depending on the type of device, there is a manufacturer's warranty of 2 or 6 years. For most devices, this warranty can also be optionally extended to 10 years.

Can anyone buy an AED?

There are no legal restrictions on the purchase of an AED. Any natural or legal person can purchase an AED in Germany. The regulations of the Medical Devices Operator Ordinance (MPBetreibV) apply to the operation of an AED.

What is the maximum energy your AEDs can deliver?

All AEDs in the HeartSave series can deliver biphasic energies of up to 360 Joule.
